As of now, I will cut the entire piece into two parts. First part will tackle the two expelled Manalo family members, while the second will tackle the missing ministers. For now, let's review the first part.
So apparently, some members of the INC has been expelled because of allegedly exposing the corruption of the INC administration. Even Angel Manalo and Tenny Manalo, respectively the brother and mother of the current INC executive minister, have been expelled for sowing disunity within the church. The two claimed to be threatened and detained by the INC administration. Basically, they are protecting unity among members by disuniting other members from the church for 'allegedly' disuniting the church.
According to Bienvenido Santiago, chief envangelist of INC, the two attempted to divide the church and seize power within the church. Two things there:
1.) That is what a bad guy would say if he was found to be corrupt. Also, a bad guy would also say that the good guy was threatening and illegally detaining him to avoid telling the truth, so frankly, we are at an impasse.
2.) Why would the brother and mother of the leader attempt to seize the power of the leader himself? I could understand the brother, but, brother AND mother? You do realize that your own mother has special powers over you, right? Every mother has telepathic, clairvoyant, and omniscient powers over you. They all do. Believe me.
According to the two, the administration threatened their lives and illegally detained them. There was even a hostage occurence that is unsure if fabricated or not. My response to this is: WTF?! How did this escalate quickly? No one knows. But wait, it gets weirder than it already is.
After the event, Angel Manalo claimed that the hostage was just a child's joke. I might call bulls%*t on that one because what kind of child would pretend to be a hostage by writing on a piece of paper with the words "TULONG! HOSTAGE KAMI!"(Help! We are hostaged!). No child does that because there is already an android app for that (I hope).
The now viral hostage sign. (Source: Rappler.com) |
Like Rappler, news media sites are littered with articles about this incident. It especially got viral on INC members, but I wouldn't count on the general populace. This may be a scandal, but this is no sex scandal. Let's admit it, this would've been more viral than it already is if it were true. Filipinos love a good sex/obscene scandal.
If you still want to desintegrate a majority of your brain cells from either the topic of this article or my horrible writing skills, then enjoy the next part of this article.
Note: If this post has ever any typographical, factual, or intellectual property errors, please do let me now in the comments. I'll be glad to correct them so long as they are valid.
